Nova Scotia
On the Eastern coast of Canada between Maine and Newfoundland
A tiny little strip of land towards the Atlantic spreads her hand
She’s been the farewell port to men of honour in two world wars
She’s been the welcome mat for immigrants the tired and the poor
Known as Nova Scotia, Warden of the North, and Home of the Bluenose ship
The flags on the Citadel Hill wave to the newcomers who are tired from their trip
The isle of Newfoundland sits close to our North.New Brunswick is to the West
And Prince Edward Island, got love her red soil, is snuggled in between the rest
We’ve sand beaches, wild forests, blessed flower filled parks,
We’ve cities and small towns and sweet singing meadow larks
We’ve the highlands of Cape Breton where the Gaelic rings true
We’ve the apple blossom spring festival that’s a treasure for you
Summers are warm here but you can swim and lots more to do
The fall offers a blazing kaleidoscope of leafs in a many a colourful hue
Winter snows for skiers and kids and a reason to snuggle by a fire too
Spring gives us hope that the future is near as the first flowers poke through
We’ve no earth quakes, no forest fires, no cyclones or tidal wave fear
We’re friendly folk and we welcome all to set a spell with us here
So if you desire a home that you can call your heaven on earth
You’ll find Nova Scotia is one place that’s truly all that it’s worth
your poem offers many reasons to live there ... excellent write ...
Take care,
Sherry
