sadness

poets views blues

heavy hearted
sad and blue
can’t understand
what should I do

teardrops flooding
dams of hope
soul feels wounded
can’t seem to cope

I didn’t want
anger’s heat
just wanted to know
now I’m in defeat

crippled thoughts
confusions pain
depression rules
close insane

under covers
into my bed
warm and safe
in my lonely head

Dear Felix,

You have captured those feelings remarkably well, we all have our moments, hours and sometimes days. Super write Felix, thanks for sharing.

I think this is a good poem of self advise
when we are faced w/a situation that we are totally bewildered by and saddened, sometimes its good to take a mental health day and just chill out.......
well said

The dark and security that comes after we dive under the covers are only putting off the reality that a mind that cannot cope must really have to deal with. It is scary out there when our thought process is warped. Hell, it is scary out there. Period. Good poem.

Yeah it gets that way sometimes, though under the covers I usually find some warmth to soften the sharp edged pain in my head.

LOL at Jude :)

... Alone in MY head is the last place I think I'd want to be, Felix!! It's a scary and foreign place that I have yet to find a map for! You articulate the temperament of the poet well... we perhaps spend much time empathising and trying to sort through collective ideas in our head, consequently we can confuse what is how WE actually feel and what are just objective siftings. I think I have a sunny and optmistic nature, yet I seem to write endlessly about the darker moods and feelings - perhaps I'm just contrary!!?? On the other hand, I have just read somewhere that writers are 8 times more likely to suffer depression than most other people. That figures!! Flick on the remote and find some crazy humour to pierce through the gloom... keep on the sunny side, Felix, otherwise your bed is going to get a bit crowded with others joining you in there... oops, there's one already...!! :)) LOL Kate xx

sometimes our moods make us blue
time to rekindle what we hold true

Time to find something to make yourself feel happy, Felix. "They" say if you sit and smile for extended periods of time that it actually causes physical changes that make you feel happier...worth a try, eh? Very emotive write, I could feel your sadness and depression.
Take care,
Sherry

The dream spirit swept over the Den. Your poem is probably the fourth gloomy write I've read in a few hours. Hope we're not entering our doom and gloom phase. :-) I did grasp your expression of depression, Felix. You've communicated well.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
