Judgement From the Court of Morality...Guilty

I guess my heart still feels heavy...

alone before their judgement I sit afraid
cruel eyes and words my joy betrayed
i feel a weight is crushing my heart
squeezing the happiness out of me
twisting my smile and watering my eyes
i feel hope sliding away on a river of despair
one i can’t understand and it won’t just disappear
i want to try and find a course to safe haven
let me be, leave me alone, don’t go there
you’ll hurt her, leave her if you truly care
what does she want, what do i want
what does the world want that i can never give
steal from me my moment burn it beneath the searing sun
force me to the coffin, puffy satin lining white
let its coolness comfort me in the silence of the night
too many people judging me in the court of morality
scattering my caring, stealing my sincerity
no win situation someone has to crash and burn
they’ve chosen me this time, i guess i didn’t learn.

OMG felix this sounds like my life. This exactly how I feel, because of my lost adolescence. Years I will never be able to have again, because a woman who called herself my mother, threw me away. Why? I will never know, she took that secret to her grave. But still she was my mother, and my love for will never end. It was her love that was lost to me. I have now gotten on with my life, but I can never forget this searing, burning hole in my soul, left by the explosion of betrayal. Now that I am officially engaged, with ring and all, I can now move forward. But I will never ever forget how I was cheated out of 5½ of the most imsportant years of this girl's life. May the Lord be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((HUGS))), Barbie

This is a haunting and deeply moving poem, my heart goes out to your grief and dispair, excellently expressed.

Every now and then, you do a meaningful piece - and by dingy, this is one of them. You speak for so many, and your words are well chosen and laid like the bricks of a Westchester County mansion! Bill

Powerful poem, Felix. Just remember, those who sit on the "morality jury" are nothing but oxymorons (you may remove the oxy if you want). Anyone who judges the morals of another has none of their own.

Felix, I like this.

Profound, intense, in your face. Judgement can be painful, but it destroys more when it comes from within.

Keep on writing!

Maybe it's me, or is this a cry from the depths? Heavy, my friend, I hope the oppression lifts soon! This aches with the kind of agony many writers feel. Well written!
