I am not a normal Christian in the fact that I don't believe in Organized Religion but there are times I reflect on the what if scenary of life...

My Last Thoughts

Will there truly be a light to guide me

That last mile I walk along

Will the clouds angelic comfort me

Help my faith be forever strong

Will Saint Peter check me off his list

As my savior welcomes me home

Will the prayers of those I left behind

Make me feel so less alone

Will my Mothers arms surround me

With her kisses sweet with love

Will my Father come to greet me too

As I find my niche above

Will my brothers gone before me

Roughhouse with me as we would do

Will I find a welcome mat in heaven

Tell me Lord oh tell me true

Will these worldly troubles vanish

Can you wipe my slate of sins

Will you look kindly on your black sheep

As my new afterlife begins

Will you ease the burdens of my heart

Now that I am in your fold

Will then Lord I’m ready when you are

Take me with you up I’m feel so very cold.

our bodies are the lord's temple ... he resides within us ... organized religion only separates mankind from himself ... in fact, it many ways, organized religion is the creation of earth's present ruler ...

excellent and moving poem ...

These thoughts are so honest and go right to the heart of the matter, Felix. I am sure that they touch the Father's heart and that He has his hand on you. I agree with so much of what has already been said, but with the addition that it is Jesus who paves the way for us, I believe, and that His presence can truly be known in THIS life to comfort and sustain, so that all the "heaven" bit doesn't have to wait until we die. I have to heartily agree with John's quote below... organised religion does tend to make us "worse" Christians, sometimes, and pretty "unreal"... however, guess that could be said to be the same for all family life...!! Keep asking the questions, Felix, and I am convinced you will find them answered. Bless you, Kate xx

Wonderful, heartfelt poem! We all have a need for spiritual comfort during certain times of our lives, and especially when we reflect upon our mortality. We seek a power sublime, one greater than ourselves, to help solve all of our earthly problems; forgive our wrong doings, and to make our after death experience, divinely blissful. Flood your heart with universal love, Flex, and expect the best.

Yes Felix I feel that when we ahve passed on our families that have gone before us. Yes, your brothers willbe there to roughhouse with you again, your mother's arm will surround and love like she did before. This is my belief. The Lord will take us home to eternal peace, and we will enjoy the life, that is happy, carefree and eternal. May the Lord be with you always, and at your side always, With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((HUGS))), Barbie

It's helpful, knowing death can happen to any of us at any time, to believe in something sincerely and deeply. My husband's an atheist who believes dead is dead but I think after death our soul becomes one with nature until our next rebirth, a part of the universe's great harmony - and there's nothing more blessed than that! I hope you find your answers. Death is never the final event our souls face.

Great poetic pondering, Felix!

Dear Felix,
As always you write so poignantly and I have a lump in my throat after reading this. I believe what matters to God is the condition of your heart, rather than what you've done right or wrong in this life. Nobody is perfect. God to me IS love and love sees beyond the flaws. From what I see, you have a wonderful loving heart. I hope you're not planning on checking out anytime soon. I'd miss you.
Take care precious friend

I don't do organized religion either, Felix, but there is always that little niggling thought tickling the back of my head...

SOME LAST THOUGHTS pose some very serious pondering. It will probably follow me around all day long.
