Rcently in Alberta four young members of Canada's RCMP, an elite world famous police force, were shot down in cold blood by sniper fire when investigating a suspected drug warehouse. The sniper then cowardly turned the weapon on himself...

In The Line Of Duty

They are the cream of our nation’s best

They are the very few who could pass the test

They are the Royal Canadian Mounted Police

And to preserve the law they will not rest

Their tunics scarlet red with Sam Browne belt

Yellow striped trousers and hat of felt

On horseback, in cruisers, and water craft too

They always get their man, it’s what they do

In Alberta four brave officers all went out

Their orders clear their was no doubt

Suddenly sniper fire pierced the quiet air

Screaming lead stole young lives without a care

Then the excuse of a man who shot them from high

Gave one weak demented coward’s cry

Turning the rifle he took his useless life

Leaving all of us to just ask why

A nation watched, a country mourned

The flag draped caskets so adorned

Four unsaddled horses drifted off alone

Their riders no more to come home.

This is so very sad, Felix. Why didn't that guy just shoot himself and leave the Mounties alone? It makes no sense, does it. Some people just have no regard for life, their own or others. What a terrible shame it is.
Take care,
Sherry

I felt that one to the core because of what happened because of my husband and the fact that he worked in law enforcement for years.. Thanks for the tribute and memorial to them.
