God’s Design
The air is cold and crisp and clear
Mother natures hand is always near
In my cabin way up in these rolling hills
I’ll light the kerosene oil lamp
Make a fire to dry out the damp
As I dream about the big trout in the lake
As the maple logs crack and sizzle fire
I’ll drink my rum and slowly tire
Alone with just my racing poet’s thoughts
I’ll walk out in darkness of the night
When the stars are full and bright
And the moon shines down with an eerie glow
I may take out my old six string
Join a band of coyotes as they sing
The song about this barren loner’s life
When my eyes beg me to go to sleep
In my empty bunk I’ll gently weep
At the way that God designed this world of mine.
It feels like the country Colorado.
Where was this written?
Yes, we all want to go there.
Blessings,
JMD

You know as well as I that cabin holds more than loneliness for you. It's your safe haven from not only life, but all things within and without.
It's rustic walls maintains your livelihood and replenishes your soul the nourishment it needs to continue your climb.
The ladder is steep, and wrungs are slippery, but you know you'll manage the journey.
See you when you return, I'm looking forward to your next write.
Take care.
