sins of youth

Just my muse on overtime...

sins of youth are not forgotten

lurking in darkened shadows like spies

eating at the hearts and souls

sweet memory of youth just dies

I’ve looked towards the heavens

thought I was being Godly wise

no angel’s answer was forthcoming

they didn’t hear my pleading cries

I look into the fires of hell

flames torturing my straining eyes

looking for a simple answer

that the devil won’t disguise

my teardrops won’t stop falling

nor can I stop my punctuated sighs

just like a piece of putrid meat

a feastly supper for the flies

Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray…….

I pray….

I pray..

Difficult to let go of, but it is, I believe, the enemy of our soul who crippes us with guilt and condemnation. Accusation comes from HIM rather than from God, who has only love and redemption to offer. If we could but realise that, then maybe that would help us not to be so fearful and the letting go of our shortcomings and mistakes would be easier. Still takes a great deal of determination to do it though... to let it all go and not to take it back again. I have found that a good therapy is to go alone to a vast expanse of water and to name each thing that has bugged me and to throw it with a scream right into the place where I can't pick it up again! But, that's me, init?! You are a tender and sensitive soul, Felix, who has paid more than the price for whatever you have felt you have done, I am sure. Bless you, Kate xx

As we see the shining moments of our youth fade into dust, it is difficult not to take a position of mourning the loss of them. Such sweet and free times those were when our lives were so much less complicated. As we wave goodbye, surely there will be tears in our eyes.
Take care,
Sherry

Beautiful outpouring. A great write with a feeling of sadness though a feeling of hope.

Felix,
I know all too well the frustrations that mingle with insomnia. Nothing works right, your mind, your body, or your muse! As a matter of fact that little critter gets might irritating when one hasn't rested, and he decides to play tricks.
Take a long hot shower, listen to some relaxing music, drink something enjoyable..and then try again!
My prayers are with you.

Lisa
