As Love Is Young

If i touch you will you melt

Into a puddle at my feet

Your heart lost to me forever

On this cold and empty street

If i kiss you will you kiss me

Like it could be our last

A kiss so full of longing

Of future, present, past

If my arms embrace you

Hold you to my breast so warm

Will you be my beacon in the night

My one comfort in the storm

If i make sweet love with you

Will our souls and bodies true unite

Or will i wake up from a sweet dream

With you forever lost to sight.

Kinda reminds me of the song "When I Dream, I Dream of You" Waking from a dream like this seems so real that you feel like it is a reality. Very touching. Karen

The love and warmth in this are palpable, Felix, and, as such, move me to the core. Feels like we're being envelopped in the most incredible bearhug - and who would ever want to be free of that protective swaddling? Your line "If I make sweet love WITH you" really stands out to me; the idea of "with" you and not "to" you says much about your honouring and equal-status-granting attitude to the females in your life. You certainly are rare among men and to be treasured by all women - from your granddaughter up! Such a truly balanced attitude may be projected by many men, but, in reality, is not what they happen to believe in their heart of hearts... you beautifully give yourself away here - to your absolute credit. Such respect is melting. TY LOL Kate xx - most tender and embracing poem, BTW. Have to agree that it is now one of my FelixFavs!! :))

Dreams don't always hold the answers, and they do vanish when you wake up only to be pursued in reality.
