Fictional but hopeful..

Beside her grave in dark of night

His heart bleeds out his rage

Teardrops burn a path of pain

As his mourning comes of age

He lifts his head up to the sky

Screams obscenities at the moon

Almost casts his soul with Satans lot

Then an angel smiles inside a dream

His love, his hope, his future

He saw in wings of white

Blows a kiss across eternity

To show him all is right

His tears still flowed freely

Yet his soul at last found calm

She eased his weary heartache

Like some find comfort in a psalm

He knew God had his reasons

To call his angel home

As she drifted off on the clouds

He knew he would never walk alone

I hope someone would write a beautiful, eloquent tribute to my life as lovely and full of grace as RETURN OF AN ANGEL is.

This is breath-taking, Felix; perhaps one of your best though that is a difficult call since I love all of your writes.
Take care,
Sherry

Ah, Felix, this is writing that embeds itself, lingers... the gamut of emotion never waivers... the depth of human sadness is clear but never maudlin. That is not an easy task, to touch without losing touch.

... a really lovely, heartbreaking, recognizable place within us all. I do hope people "hear" the quiet joy in that last line. katy xox
