A walk on the other side....
*The Reapers Shift* *wind chimes tinkle* *like breaking glass* *summer heat dries* *out the grass* *humidity sucks* *the life of man* *woman crave* *that golden tan* *a child cries* *tom cat screech* *alarm clock rings* *just out of reach* *sirens tearing blare* *rends the night* *someone shivers* *somewhere in fright* *death walks in shadows* *lost souls beware* *reaps in his count* *he takes his share* *angels flee* *at his command* *there is a job to do* *his works at hand* *blood on the pavement* *lifes last gasp* *a barrel smokes* *handcuffs clasp* *a whiff of sulphur* *an icy chill* *another is taken* *down to�.*

Vivid imagery, gripping the chest tightly as a heart thumps in fear. Frightening reality delivered in this powerful write Felix.

Chilling "shift", even in the heat of summer, dear friend! It is a vivid, compelling composition that could well be the basis for a great story. Also, it is expressive of your versatility as a writer, with an obvious talent to create with quality, in any genre or mood. Bless you, Felix, and keep creating!

Gosh, heat AND dust in the same poem, Pops!! Looks like EdK's El Levante has been up to no good in your neck of the woods! I like this juxtaposition of what some of us crave as "life-giving" i.e. sulty summer days - with the black presence that is ever stalking in our midst... Even in the midst of life we are in death, for sure... but a violent end is to be greatly feared and is treachery indeed. A shadow on my sunshine today... but, yes, I can get extremely crabby if I get TOO hot, that's true too! LOL Kate xx

I agree with both Sandie and Tinka. If you ever want to see first hand about what you just wrote, come and sit with me on my front porch. Violence is everwhere these days, and crimes are committed without a thought of the consequences by greedy fools, who think they can get away with it. Haunting imagery is painted here with skill, and this does create frightening and sad images. Thnx for sharing brother. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and be at your side constantly.
