I love white roses and I love love...

WHITE ROSE AND LOVE

By: felix l perry

the petals of the white rose

are soft and velvet to the touch

like words you whisper to me

words of love I crave so much

like the rose your fragrance

lingers long in the lonely air

it even lingers on the pillow

though you're no longer here

a rose is framed in greenery

thorns protect its pure design

if you try to pick too quickly

it will hurt you every time

yet if it is picked real gentle

nourished with respect and care

like the rose love will flourish

love's beauty is meant to share

And thank you for sharing this fantastic poem. I'm going to tell you a secret about my love poems. I envision myself whispering the words onto the page. I don't know what it is about whispering that conveys love. I guess the feeling is so strong that it takes your breath away. ~ Sara

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Mwah, Felix! This is pure perfection! Can't quite put my finger on it, but it just hits the spot, don't it? I'm probably weird, but apart from the purity of sentiment and emotion, it's the cute "yet if it is picked REAL GENTLE"... that's the goosebumpy bit! Perhaps it's the sense of slow-burn... white heat or something. One of my favs of yours, thank you. LOL Kate xx

I couldn't agree more dear brother Felix. This is not only romantic, but beautifully written and I could even smell the fragrance of the white rose as I read this. Thnx for sharing bro. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side consantly. With much love in my heart, stubborn to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sad sister, Barbie

Oh, yes, the rose is the flower symbolizing love. Although the white one has the best fragrance, my apricot colored one smells almost as good and is quite beautiful too. It changes from a dark apricot color to a lighter one before losing the petals. The rose withers, but your poem doesn't. Enjoyed reading this one. Karen

White Roses are a symbol of purity, which explains why you are partial to them. There's something even moreso pure about their fragrance..it seems stronger than any of the others.
Wonderfully penned Felix!

this is very lovely Felix...just had an old neil young song pop in my head ..."love is a rose, but you better not pick it...it only grows when its on the vine...a hand full of thorns and you know you missed it...loose your love when you say the word mine"

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
