Memories of Love gone by

forget not that I held out my hand

for your spirit in one enchanted glance

recall not I listened and offered solace

from the world’s evil demons dance

you once hung your hat beside my door

you once laid your tired body down to cry

I held you then and you were mine

you mended and once more spread your wings to fly

I cannot hold you here in time it isn’t fair

So I’ll just pack your memories away today

in my treasure chest of things I love

no love nothing comes for free

 somehow we all must pay.

If only it were that easy to let go. But at least we have the memories in our scrap book of life. Letting go is one of the hardest parts of our lives. Very good write. Karen

There is always a price Felix for being the proverbial doormat, but comes a time to get out that scrapbook and paste.
Birds of a feather.........

Oh my goodness can I relate to this well....your quill leaves an everlasting print Felix!!

Heartfelt offering for sure...and maybe the only way out of an "Emotional Turmoil" emprisonment!!

An excellent ode to lost loves, Felix...sighs...sometimes those we love travel parallel pathways, so our being together with them for any length of time is impossible. We love them always and because of this, we wish them well; but as they venture off on their personal journey, they take a piece of us with them and we feel the ache of loss until we meet again. Wonderful work!!
Take care,
Sherry

Dearest Felix!
This is heartfelt and beautiful! The power and heartache of letting go is incomprehensible! A SpiritFelt thing ... truly loving, truly giving, truly unconditional ... The way love is destined to be!
Memories are ours to cherish! Thankfully, we are ultimately One!

This is love beyond compare, Felix... totally unconditional and selfless - what true love should be. But to be selfless to the point of total loss and acceptance is a special and rare thing... loving someone so much you can let them go in order to pursue their own way. Real and poignant. Beautifully expressed, too. A strong man to bear the cost without griping!! Hope you're feeling better today, Pops... producing classic poetry, whatever! Thank you and bless you... lots of warm hugs of appreciation. Kate xx

Beautiful memories hidden in the recesses of our minds. Poignant, sad but kept alive in our hearts.
