Family Ties

I thought a lot of things inside my head

When I was confined to my hospital bed

Of why perfect strangers seem as one

In a place where a poet’s work is never done

Yet truly are we of one house strong

We stick together right or wrong

We are each other’s last defense

Shelter and defend the poet’s critic’s ill sense

Brothers and sisters of cyber writing space

Welded as one in this prolific place

Where Shakespeare would have felt at home

Poe would have stepped down from his throne

Strangers become life long friends of hope

Like a family we help each other cope

We share what little we all have inside

Another’s success fills each with pride

An honorable lineage yes I think so

We step in the footsteps where the great ones go
