In The Christmas Mood
With nippy nose and frosted ears
I trudge back and forth the shed all day
Digging out all my lights and things
Though the sky is bleak and grey
Ladders and hammers and wire clips
I start to hum a few bars of Silent Night
There are colored lights and ribbons
To create that magic Christmas sight
Extension cords like a spider web
To a verse of Noel, Noel I plug them in
Santa sits by a pot belly stove
His snow white beard covers his chin
An evergreen wreath upon my door
That sings Santa Is Coming to Town
I hang another string of lights up
Smiling now I’ve lost my frown
A few little kids have gathered round
Join me singing White Christmas loud
I hit the switch to turn it all on
The first snowflake drifts down proud
A joy to read!
Thanks!
