One from my muse not sure where he got it but poured it into my mind to write...

The Shadow Clock

By: Felix L. Perry

The shadow clock tick tocks slowly

With a never moving hour hand

I sit in dark to try and see the light

My frayed mind refused to understand

The white rose held by stem scents air

Though its thorn has pricked my skin

A drop of blood in payment flows

Small penance for my guilty sin

I may have done things different

I might have swallowed down my pride

Instead I let it come before our love

A love tested, true and tried

Now a headstone marks a memory

That the shadow clock won’t erase

I sit alone in the dark to see the light

There is no forgiveness in this place

Yes, dear Felix... the shadow is, through your inspiration, telling you that you are steadily walking towards your time of Light. But, do you know... there is actually All forgiveness in this place. Let the Light permeate the shadow... and you will feel that forgiveness permeate your spirit with wonderful visions. Believe it...

Felix,
Your muse is clearing the path so that you can move onward and upward, just go with him.
At least he is leading you with epic words and rose scented beauty.
Stunning write Felix!

The clock is the reminder that life is a forward motion and no matter what we think we might have done differently, the die has already been cast. We are living in the here and now with our past only a stepping stone to today. We are still alive with no means to go back and correct what, in hindsight, we think we should/could have done differently. Always keep your focus on the stepping stone directly in front of you as it will lead you into tomorrow. Remember to carry the past with you, only to the extent, that you can use the lessons you have learned, as you continue forward on your life's journey.
Take care,
Sherry

I'm forever punishing myself my friend... always wishing things were different.... time can not change all things though many would like to believe it can

this was great

A penetrating write that we wish could have turned out better but we punish ourselves with the mistakes we wish had not happened. Powerful.
