Crumpled Balls of Paper

Crumpled pieces of white bond

Lay like a blanket round my feet

One more for the Friday trash

Joins the rest in prose defeat

I try to write the perfect ode

To melt the chill of winter’s night

A love ballet sweet and lingering

Or free verse bathed in love’s delight

Sweet six string chorded heartfelt words

End up just another crumpled scrap

Perhaps I’m running out of loving words

Or perhaps I only need a little nap

I know how you feel but don't be too quick to discard those scraps of paper. When the moment is just right, they might just be what you're looking for to inspire a new poem or to fill in a line or two of one you're already working on. The Muse cannot be forced, so maybe a nap is the best thing.

Love & Light,
Joseph

crumbled balls of paper are like snowflakes of your shedding thoughts ... soon they'll cover the mounatin of your ideas and grow higher and higher until they break free like an avalanche of yet unwritten poems ;)

Okay the title made me laugh becaus I misread it the first tie for "Crippled Balls of Paper"...then I wiped my eyes and started over and saw what it really said...lol!!

Great poem followed....now take a nap and be back in flash with that old six string and let us have a beautiful song!!

I don't write them down but if they don't work. DELETE. We both need a nap as I can't come up with a write today. No inspiration.

(((Felix)))

Gentle (((hugs))) and prayers--don't force it, sweetie. Boy, don't I have to tell myself this all the time. You've hit a nerve with this...relax, if you have to, walk away from it and pick it up another time. 'Kay?

Excellent poem of poetic angst--BRAVO!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
