To the almost runaways...

Tears of Midnight

Tires beating back the pavement

As I push on through the silent night

Headlights stabbing through darkness

Seems to think that I’m all right

Radio voices mumbling lyrics

I just can’t seem to hear them clear

It’s midnight and it’s a lonely night

Somewhere I lost the will to care

Gas gauge reading red line

I know my wallets red lined too

I pull to the side of the highway

Knowing I must go home to you

I wipe away the tears of midnight

From the eyes you taught so well to weep

Make a u-turn back to your empty arms

Wondering how I fell so deep.

This is soooo sad....been there done that....but with one difference......I was not even missed.....there was no care what happened to me. So I gave that up....just a waste of energy and fuel!!

Next time I will make sure my wallet and bank account is full and the tank of my vehicle to go a very long way until he sobered up till he misses me.....IF EVER!!

Now smile and cheer -Up you have your friends here on AD!!

Love Tinka

Dear Felix,
I felt the sadness and emptiness in this poem. You've captured the emotion so well. I pray that this isn't your current state of mind but if it is, please know that you have friends that do care. I'll be praying for you.
Take care
Chanti

I hope this is just a poem and not something you have to live with. Unfortunately there are men and women who find themselves in this same position

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
