Just a note this poem and my last Tears Of Midnight" are not a reflection of my present life but rather of a time in my past...

Love You, Hate You

Say that you love me, make me believe that it’s true

Promise me promises that I know you can’t do

Tell me I come first even though I know it’s a lie

Give me a good reason to believe your next alibi

Pretend that you’re sleeping when I get into bed

Ignore my hands touching the curls on your head

Turn to the wall with a mumbled feeble goodnight

Shattered dreams this empty this just can’t be right

Now I walk in the night and I dream in the day

I tell myself often that our love is okay

I love you, I hate you, I’m somewhere between

Walk softly on my heart, I’ve nowhere to lean

Walk softly on my heart, I’ve nowhere to lean

Been there and done that like alot of people. There seems to be a very fine line between love and hate...they both spring from the same well of passion. Great write! Michelle

nice job, Felix. somewhere in between can be very uncomfortable, but usually a good spot for personal reflection if we stop focusing on the other person long enough.

You have captured the feeling of not having your love responded to and how it can make your heart ache with the rejection. I like the flow and rhyme of this poignant write, it adds to the beauty of this sad poem. I'm glad for you that it is in the past.
