Sorry I had to add this one last social awareness poem...

The Angel’s Lament

The snow flakes fall heavy tonight from December sky

The angels are weeping as they look down from on high

Their teardrops are freezing as they come down to earth

The North wind must be their down-hearted deep sigh

‘Tis their season of hope that peace and joy will prevail

Their wings fluff the clouds send down droplets of hail

A harpist on high accompanies the song of Angels so sweet

They look down with sadness of the world they must greet

War in the Middle East, Palestine and Bosnian states

In Ireland and Africa children cry out at night

No Christmas will soften the bombs as they land

God help the little children who just don’t understand

In the slums and the ghettos young hungry bellies still moan

Famine and plaque in places though some give all they had

Young girls turned to hookers, young men needle slaves

How can the sweet Angels be anything but sad.

Sad truth, Felix. We think along the same lines, my friend. I wrote a "poem" last weekend in which I penned these words:

"Angels have woven
A soft blanket of snow
With their frosted tears
Snowflakes..."

Thank you for sharing this gift.
Love and peace to you.

Dear friend, one cannot possibly look at this amazingly delicate, beautiful painting of words and images without feeling one's own tears join those of the Angels - all of them - which your compassionate, gentle heart portrayed. Our intrinsic, essential Being was - is - meant to be one of beauty and of Light... and yet we have been choosing, more often than not, to imbibe and then spread that "side" which is not so beautiful and is dark within all of us. We are causing the consequences that make our own Angels inside weep. In the hope that we will all awaken again to our intended

Felix,
Truth is something that if we were to practice it, would eventually weed out those that are afraid of it. They simply would not stand alongside the ones they knew were going to use it. Truth is the most powerful weapon in the world today...even in war time...for the only thing that takes our breath away faster than it..is death. Truth never actually killed anyone...but it sure makes many squirm to have to face it!
Great write here Felix!

This is a well-written and deeply emotional offering, Felix. When I observe the world, I have to keep reminding myself that we are all responsible for what we do and war has been around since Kane and Abel. I think the biggest problem is that we don't help each other, we rely on the governments to do that and then we feel in doing so it removes us from our responsibility for the way things are. We simply sit back and blame it all on our leaders, right? We pay our taxes and in a way that relieves us from our responsibilities of taking care of one another...we pay to not have to live communally. We point fingers and blame others for the state of the world when in fact each of us is responsible for it. Just because we don't hold the rifle doesn't mean we are not responsible for the tasks of the soldier. We will all have a lot to answer for when we meet our Maker. Nice work!
Take care,
Sherry
