No secret meaning just thinking scary thoughts I guess

Air conditioned goose pimples develop on antiseptic skin

Industrial clock seconds dragging as I wait for it to begin

Ghost spectres in white hide behind masks speak in muffled voice

Invisible bonds of drug wove hands hold me in sublime fear

I see the doctors probing cuts and turn my head away to blindly stare

Drift off on a cloud of white so much white around me now

I take the hand of Angels who lead me through the haze somehow

So many long lost smiling faces come to greet me opened armed

The magic of the ages found and what was wrong is charmed

Then a stab of pain intensely stabs throught the magic dream

Reality returns in a rush and I stiffle back the urge to scream.

Oh boy...I do detest surgery!

This is scary but any surgery is scary under knives, needles, etc., one has to take a certian dose of faith in the physician but the Greatest is the Lord and his angels. They bring that peace a place to hide neath their wings and trusting in his divine protection one can slip to safty when needed. If your having surgery my prayers for speedy recovery. And thank you for sharing this poem.

Felix,
Well apparently you are fixing to have surgery of some kind, but just know that you are safe. I'll be praying for you, and those faces behind those masks.
Hurry back!

Darling Felix... I hope I'm not too late... Wednesday, right? Have no idea about the time difference... but we are with you, Babe. All those faces behind masks - look into their kind and smiling eyes: IT'S US!!!!!! The Angels are there, picking up your limp hands and rubbing them to maintain circulation, feeling your pulse, stroking calm into them. So know what you mean about that "primeval scream" though... it's like a giving up/over of life to be entrusted to something/someone other than self, init? Like a first and last shout. Just relax and try to float and that way you will assist in all things that pertain to health and healing. Think how very much you are loved and are kept safe and secure in that love. Know that you are being carried in the arms of the faith of those who intercede for you - whatever that may mean to them or you. See your life stretching endlessly forwards and back - and this moment as but a drop in your ocean. The body and life are utter miracles that we all take for granted and which mend and blend in amazing ways. All of my heart and soul are with you today and my little white feather is quivering with energy and excitement! :)) BE WELL!! And that's an order and not a wish! :)) LOLOL xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx K xx

Definitely scary thoughts, brought on by your involvement in the medical world, no doubt. An amazing write.

Hauntingly real and eerily familiar to those of us who have "gone under the knife". A very dramatic read, very well written.

Happy New Year Felix!

Peace,

~Rose~

Having gone almost under a few times myself; this picture you have woven is the sheer fright one feels especially when you see all the doctors in masks as they prepare to open you up. Glad the anesthetic kicked in but I could still hear the doctors talking before they woke me up and the operation was over.
A quick thanksgiving to God.

GADS! That was a startling piece Felix!! I remember feeling the incision during my cesarian section years ago...I wasn't completely 'under' when they began the procedure. I remember screaming but they couldn't hear me because of the ventilator. I still have nightmares about that. Scary stuff Felix! Great job! Michelle
