Saturday Is Kids Day

Baby steps pound like thunder cross the floor

someone keeps knocking at my door

I try to bury my head from the night before

oh Lord I jusI can't take this anymore

sunlight burning through the shades

remarked, rebuked failing grades

I want to hibernate as my hangover fades

alas the order given all in spades

wish I still smoke the demon weed

I'd like a drink of booze or need

perhaps a joint grown fresh from seed

ah the God bless the sixties indeed, indeed

but a little person's standing at my bedside

screaming in my ear don't hide, don't hide

to ignore her sweet baby kisses I tried. I tried

but last night I promised her a horsie ride.

Dearest Felix
This is so sweet!! And, thankfully the cause of your agony was self-inflicted!! ;-) The 'demon weed' (on its own) wouldn't cause such a hangover, so is it really demonic? I've never really suffered a hangover...can you believe it... but I still empathize with you, and am happy you overcome it to follow your promise and your wonderful poppa duties!! There is nothing like a horsie ride ... and even more special -- there is nothing like a Poppa!! Enjoy your Blessings!!
Love & Friendship Suzie xox :-)

Someday they'll outgrown horsie rides, and baby kisses...enjoy them while you have the chance. It goes by all too quickly. This is a poignant, wistful write Felix. I really loved it. Michelle

*grins* Felix, just think: someday, they will grow up, and then you'll miss the pitter patter (thunder) of toddler feet. :) Beautifully written, from the heart of a loving grandparent...

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I love this! Long ago my mother warned me to enjoy the 'toddler years' when I was having an 'eventful' mommy day. She told me they'd be over too quick and I'd miss them very much. How true her words were, though I didn't think so at the time...

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
