I live in one of Canada's foremost naval city (Halifax) which has been the launching site for naval warfare since the days of the tall ships. Inside the city limits is what we call the Bedford Magazine that supplies all the ordinace, guns, explosives, torpedos, etc for all of the Canadian navy and some of the Nato Fleet as well. Inside their is a herd of deer and every now and then if you are lucky you will see one inside the fence yesterday I saw four and the irony of it just couldn't escape me so I tossed and turned all night thinking how I could best write this.

Explosives, God and Four Legged Friends

twelve foot galvanized fences topped with razor wire

guarded gates and rifles faces grim in silent hate

green camo vehicles patrol corriders stripped bare

concealed ammunitions to seal the future's fate

explosives, weapons, tools of mass destruction

hide in bunkers awaiting a call to the next war

the names of future deaths inscribed in magic ink

names that someday will be missed forevermore

a place where evil lurks below each mound of earth

a place where goodness can't be seen but wait what do I see...

four legged beauty made by God's own hand

serene they stroll together in their tawny coats of tan

pause here and there to munch the winter grass

eyes of liquid black look back at me this mortal man

no fear of what where they walk, no fear of death for them

protected by the tools of death they live free as you and I

there's a doe with belly swollen, another with fawn in tow

my mind is lost in perfect wonder and a tear forms in my eye...

Very well written Felix. From a description of death, to the beauty that is God's own creation. What God hath wrought, let no man put asunder. Thnx for sharing Felix. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, maybe too stubborn for my own good, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your still very sad and very terrified little sister, Barbie

This reminds me of when one of my sons begged for G.I. Joe and all the war stuff that was sold with him. How easily we are sold on the weapons that destroy at such early ages...

All of life is a circle and that which protects can also destroy. The armories are important and though it is sad that we still need them, we surly do. We share one earth, it is unfortunate that from the beginning of time, we have killed our brethren and that we continue to fight over borders, love, possessions and power. Such is human nature and we must take solace in the beauty that we are blessed to behold. Excellent write of the conflict of the human spirit.
Take care,
Sherry

The world is slowly but surely, eradicating the homefront of our wildlife. Wiping away the Godly creations with our own ugly handiwork, of stone, steel and plastics, and making His breathing fourlegged miracles left displaced and disgraced.
We should be ashamed of ourselves...we truly are the top of the food-chain..but then..I always remember what my Father once told me...just when you think you are the best at what you do...along comes another to prove you aren't.
Well we humans have alot of hard lessons to learn someday...and our time will arrive.
Good one Felix!

Lisa

Yes this world lives on the brink of destruction waiting for the right moment when all will be ashes.
