The Gallant's Cabin Boy's Lament
Oh Captain, my Captain, please I'm tired and afraid
Help me to survive this timeless night
The winds howl like the banshee screams
and all hands hang on in desparate fright
The waters pouring in below the decks so fast
I heard the Gallant's crew man the pumps in vain
Why are we keeling to the starboard sir
Why do you sit there like a man insane
Oh Captain, my Captain, I hear the timber's creak
How come the diesels and the boilers
No longer roar their sound of powers might
OH Captain please advise me on this hellish night
Oh dear God the lifeboats now are gone
Capzised and sent our crewmates to their rest
Forever sent to King Neptunes tombs so deep and cold
Tis there they'll end their final quest
Oh Captain, my Captain we are so close to the shore
The sky is now awakening we could make it there I'm sure
Oh sir put down the pistol, please sir theres still a chance
Oh Captain, my Captain, his life is now no more.
Grippingly told, one feels the fear in these words--compelling reading and poem. VERY well penned--outstanding rhyme and meter.

Shot in the back was the cabin boy while going thru the door...
Sorry for the addition, just was the first thing to come to mind while reading this intriguing piece of work...you kept me enthralled if only for one page, and that is hard when I am not feeling up to snuff...Peace, Ed & Rufuz
