When Sea Meets Sky
(Swissair Flight 111 Disaster)
On the fateful day of September second
In the year nineteen ninety-eight
Swissair Flight one, one, one
Reported she was in running late
An SOS went out across the air
A pilot’s frantic last goodbye
He’d jettison fuel over the Atlantic
This was their last goodbye
Two hundred and twenty nine souls
Perished on that fateful flight
Leaving loved ones forever saddened
Such tragedy that deadly night
As the families prayed and hoped
Searchers raked the cold calm sea
Tears ran like raindrops
From the things they had to see
When the search was finally over
No survivors was the cry
Such was the fate of man women and child
When joined to the sea from the sky.
Hadn't you once wrote a poem about the oil rig that had gone down off Newfoundland or was that a song.
Love ya,

Take care,
