I was supposed to go to Newfoundland this weekend but due to massive snow storms there all flights were cancelled so my Buddy and I decided on a road trip instead. Unplanned we ended up in Portland, Maine and over the miles we shared a lot of conversation. This poem sort of tells the conversation that two guys go through on a long road trip leaving out discussions on sex that are usually mingled in as well lol
*Road Trip Philosophy* *We talked about old friends* *Of people we knew* *Talked of the weather* *Skies midnight blue* *We talked about politics* *You understand* *We talked about immigration* *To our great land* *The day turned to night* *As the miles slipped behind* *Looking for excitement* *To see what we�d find* *We shared thoughts on philosophy* *Our moral values and insights* *Talked about sports* *Baseball and the fights* *Discussed family and lovers* Both present and past *Laughed at each others stories* *Driving just a little too fast* *On through the long night* *Many miles passed away* *Shared so much private thought* *Tight friends are that way* *When the talk turned to God* *What we both believed* *I told him I loved God* *But I no more was deceived* *By the trappings and finery* *The stained glass and lace* *I found my God beside me* *In all that I face* *He smiled and he told me* *God is where he will be* *I may preach his word in a church* *The love he gives you is free.*

Thank you Felix, for sharing this. And yes, God is everywhere, and stained glass, lace and fancy suits don't make a good Christian. I pray to God in my bedroom, in my living room, sitting in the park, just taking a walk. God is indeed everywhere that we may be in any given instance. And all things are possible from God, through His son Jesus, and as long as we believe on the name of Christ Jesus, we will be forgiven our sins, as long as we don't kill anyone, hurt anyone, or commit suicide.

Road trips are great tho, because it gives us time to reflect, to talk to strangers we meet, to laugh, to enjoy nature, to enjoy the things God has given us. Thanks for pre-teen memories, my dear brother.
