From the surf of Nova Scotia...

Sea Shelly See

On the beach I wandered

Held captive by the scene

Surf building a memory

Tan sand and seaweed green

I stub a naked toe

Yelped with indignity

Then picked up my irritation

A fragment of sea ivory

Shell sprang into my heart

Like a lover in the night

Smooth and soft her texture

Strong but feather light

No, not a precious gemstone

Just floatsom on the tide

Still I tucked it in my pocket

I’ll cherish Shell with pride!

Yes just another reminder

How special time can be

Thank you Shell sincerely

I’m glad you came to me!
