Poet's Lost Ideals

I wrote this as I have seen and felt a lot of "anger" on the den lately some directed towards me some to others and it greives me as artists we cannot find a way to coexist...

Lost Poet’s Ideals

I sit with heavy heart

As I hear how even the poets

Work to bring each  other down

To critique not critique

To ostracize not analysis

To demean not support

My heart bleeds as I feel

Not the love as I should

But hate and resentment

Fear and jealousy

Pettiness and cattiness

I want to pack it in

Walk away, go to stay

Go back to the night

Give up the fight

Enjoy peace not agony

Live in solitude

Instead of angry multitude

The new dawn breaks

A flash of new sun

They haven’t won

I will remain, won’t be the same

Rules will change, rearrange

Of poet’s heart a brand new start

"Of poet's heart a brand new start." B R A V O ~~!!
Felix, Luv, you can take heart in knowing that not only
will you never descend to petty acts such as you describe,
you never considered doing so and never will. Always be
people who act. . .like, um, jerks. But to be a loving,
compassionate, creative, intelligent, and principled friend to all
is to have the world by a string. Be sittin' on a rainbow! Like
y o u!! 'Pea' <3

Dear Felix, at first we were to stunned to say (write) a word. Then we read your words below and were glad to see that you are too stubborn to leave. By now pretty much everyone has probably experienced these dumbfounded individuals driven by whatever strange motives, and most of us would wish they either stay away or at least keep quiet. In the end the only thing they hurt is their own reputation and people just don't even look at their stuff, even if it was qualety work. We do agree with all our other friends on the board here. We do appreciate your work, enjoy it and LOVE it and that of so many others!!! And, it would hurt us to the bottom of our heart to see any of you go. Your poem is excellent penned!
Lots of Love and many hugs, Birgit and Roger

i'm not sure what brought this on, Felix but my only advise is to disregard the inappropiate commet(s) you have experienced ... you are totally correct in your appraisal of this unfortunate and asinine situation ... comments should not be judgemental but should support or advise the poet on the quality of his/her work ... if people don't agree with the concept or intent of the poem, it's naturally their right to do so, but they should keep it to themselves and not make a public display of it ... just hang in and keep writing ...

I want to thank you all for your show of support but I do have a few things I would like to add. First I will not be going and had no intentions of leaving, I am too stubborn. Second their are so many and in fact, the majority of our writers are kind, open and loving people. Third I think one think we tend to lose track of here is the review and comments section is not here to argue or disagree with the poets thoughts, principles or ideas.....no, it is to critique there mehods, styles, imagery and quality of their work as well as offer each other constructive critism and encouragement. Someone posted instructions on here once on how to critique properly and I wish they would repost it for the benefit of those who are not sure what they should say in a review. To conclude I thank all my readers and reviewers for your continued support and friendship, it means a lot to me.

Hugs,
Felix

Wottt????? My huggy and big-hearted friend Felix in the firing line of unpleasantness? I am aware that it goes on, but I would have thought that you would be one of the last to be affected, Pops!! :(( BUT, that being said, it is sooooo like you to be upfront and tackle these seamy issues head on and to not sweep them under the carpet. YOU BETTER STAY!! If decent folks are driven away in despair of the behaviour they see demonstrated, the effect is to drive the atmosphere even lower. Good for you for both articulating the problem and for not being bullied by such tactics employed by the few. Keep smilin, Darlin... gotta love that BOAT!!! And the broad-chest beside it! Glad you keep us sheltered beneath them big, broad shoulders, too! :)) LOL K xx

Felix, I have been writing on the den on and off for four years. I left a few times because of some of the A-- holes. You talk about the cruelty of some, I mean I am talking cruel people here at Authors Den.. I don't mean everyone but I know who they are because I'm extremly intuitive...They fight and stick their noses up the air because we all have diffrent opinions and some simply hate one another.I know this exists.I pray everyday for each other to have peace and guided by a higher source. This den has always had some very nasty people with worldly ego pride Bull.S..I don't say everyones like that but I know who is and I just avoid them...There is alot of jelousy on the board and predjudice....I just know who they are and I just avoid their posts..God, there's the old saying, God, can't we just all get along??That would be too easy for these mean spirited people..Keep your chin up and forget the unhappy people who are biggits who still write at the den..I think we all need tolerance..Amennnnn..

Fee...

Whatever who is here who upset you like this...well ignore the ignorant. My father said that no one's talking bad about you if you're not doing your job. Consider people can get nasty when they are jealous of your work. Heck!! They need to be jealous as your work is terrific. How many super stars ever quit because of bad press? Bad reviess only mean success to me.

Love and hugs!Susan

My mother used to call me dense, but I never believe her, but I guess she may have been correct, because I havn't noticed any sniping going on here at the Den. I know it is hard to do, I've been there also, but just consider the source. I, too, left the den once, took all of my stuff off. I came back because to do otherwise was admiting something in me that I didn't want to admit, that I was a wimp. So I came back, ignored the problem and it went away.

I am so sorry to learn that this exists here in the Den, where I've met some of the best poets and sweetest people in the world! It's been my joy to receive encouragement and support here, and I'm truly saddened to find that that's not been everyone's experience. Perhaps if the world could learn to disagree agreeably, we could all vent our differences without hurting anyone. Please don't let this run you off, Felix. Don't "give up the fight!"

I agree don't you let anyone moves in and make you leave Felix....yes I feel some distance from some of my old friends myself...but not giving up...just proving that I have no intention to be the loser...and I did nothing to deserve to be totally ignored!!

My dearest Felix, I dare sharing this humble belief that the true Poet's Ideals are elements of a wondrous universe, which couldn't be more distant from the rarefied atmosphere of that "mental space" limited by "hate and resentment, fear and jealousy, pettiness and cattiness" which you refer to, with comprehensible sadness. You are a True Poet - because you invent and re-invent (you create and expand from all creation around you) and don't merely "vent" what is really nothing but vitriolic refusals of actual growth; you are gracious and you are kind in your appreciations of the work of other authors, while very wisely not pretending to be a literary critic (which most of those who post poetry or other writings in this website plainly are not, either). So, dear friend and admired Poet, please give this some thought - you are not a Poet who has lost his ideals; it's those others who are not poets who have not found them.
Please keep writing Poetry and aiming at the attainment of that wondrous universe of the Poet's Ideals.

Felix,

It is sad when we can't get along. We must put aside our differences and accept each other without destroying our creative outlets. We may not all be poet laureates here, but we all share a common goal: writing! I hope they haven't been attacking you; that is bad when someone's works are attacked (for whatever reason it may be). I pray that if you are it ends soon! Rant on; I hear ya...

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

Felix,

So sad...I've noticed it, too. Don't leave, because then you'll only give them the satisfaction of having won...a powerful, poignant write, very well done.

(((((HUGS))))) and love, Karla.
