Let Me Be A Friend
I talked to a young lady today
She had teardrops in her eyes
A young single mother to a little boy
My heart ached to hear her sighs
She said she did not tell her family
She is trying to do things on her own
Her tears she only lets fall at night
When she faced the bitter truth alone
No husbands arms to hold her
When the sickness left her so afraid
Stifled pillowed cries of tortured pain
Looking for blame in past sins made
Blood speckled on a hanky
Her weight each day sliping into air
Weak, tired and weary from her struggle
But she won’t give in to open fear
She said can I talk to you sometimes
When the night won’t let me rest ‘
If I can talk it helps me understand
Why I’ve been given such a test
I wiped the teardrops from my eye
Said you can count on my support
Let me share the weight on your shoulders
Let me be a soldier in your fort.

there must have been a reason you connected with the person,
God puts people in our lives that are supposed to be with us at
certain times
not only do you have shoulder.....you have wings :)
