When friendship is not the answer we wish to hear it can be a crushing blow to our heart and our ego, Felix. I rather suspect that each of us has been in this position and it is a bitter sting from either side. Aching oozes from every line of this wonderful poem.

Awww Felix. This is so sad and heartfelt. The pain of breaking up is especially tearful, especially when you still love the one you're breaking up with. So emotional and I could actually feel the sadness. Remaining friends after a breakup can be and is very awkward. Thanx for sharing dear brother, this is one of you very best.

Unrequited love is a real pain in the :x *grin*

It's a rare thing to find an equal degree of love compared to that our own hearts hold. And the search for that precious heart leads us down many paths and much too often to tears. Your verse describes that journey of averseness so well.

How sad! That whole just friends thing can be so irritating, the sadness really shows through this one, in a clear and simple way, good work.

Talk about heartstrings...this sure tugs at mine. The emotions a poem like this stirs goes deep for who hasn't had to face this at one time or another. Your words seduce the very deep part of the heart where the nournful strings play their dirge as the pain sweeps. You've touched me there Fee.
