Far too often I have heard and even said it myself in the past that I am giving up on love, but the older I get the more I come to realized for better or worse love is life an life is love. What a sad desparate world does the person who hides themselves inside their mind guarding zealously their heart to keep it from getting broken...

Yea…it hurts like hell Aches like shit Broken hearts Make souls rip Mind grows wild Stomach churns Tears threaten floods Anger burns Despair enters Want to die Too sad to live So alone you cry Never, never… Never again! A little smile Gentle hand Listens close Seems to understand First a little kiss with a warm hug Is it warm in here Cupids tug Butterflies and dreams Phone calls to say hi Life stories shared Even safe to cry Maybe, maybe This is it! It matters not Life is love Tears and laughter From above Not all is roses Thorns come too Yet life is living Not passing through So never say never To love’s sweet rope Enjoy each moment With sweet dear hope.

"Love's sweet rope" - such a beautiful expression, Felix and, as man of the sea, I can just imagine your lovenest roped and tied with all manner of wonderful love knots and reef knots and half-bosuns or whatever! This has wonderful voicing, tender and tentative and yet also strong and determined: and balanced finely, too. Love and hope spring eternal here, Pops, and definitely will NEVER be given up on! Knowing how wonderful life is when you find love then it's worth doing it all over again. The heart is resillient. I felt the pain and longing in this poem Fee. You are very agile with that heart too and you sure can animate it's passion and pain.
