My Sea Shells Lost Directions

By: Felix L. Perry

Between the teardrops and the mattress

Between blankets warm and coffee cold

Between believing and walking away

There is a price we all must pay

Under the stars and over the rainbow

Under the clouds drifting ever slow

Under the branches of an old oak tree

There we learn nothing here is free

Over the sound of  my heart breaking

Over the wound of your heart aching

Over all the hopes that could not be

I’ll kiss you once then set you free

Across the field of dreams I’ll be there

Across silent thoughts you often fear

Across your mind a dream whisper away

I promise you  another time another day

Into the void of tomorrow no turning back

Into the veil of darkness my lonely track

Into the future you must travel light

Sweet wishes free…goodnight, goodnight!

LOST DIRECTIONS????!!!! This absolutely takes my breath away, Felix, and creates a vacuum in my heart and a swirling vortex in my mind and soul. Absolutely agonising, but I understand this so well. Totally spot-on. Totally, totally one of your best writes EVER, Pops, and have to say again that it seems to be "the pain that makes the pen fly". Be well, most precious heart. LOL Kate xx

Love so tender and so sweet could not hurt, could it? Hurts to read but what exquisite pain. Beautiful write and what drew me to your poem was your title, "My Sea Shells Lost Directions"!!! Love and God bless, Felix!!!

Across the Miles "Leroy" the sum and substance of it all.

PS, The Name Leroy made me laugh when I was a kid from the Andy Griffith Show, and it still does, so you're stuck with it m8 TEEHEE.

This is a beautiful poem. Your touch of words falls like a gentle rain on a SCORCHING afternoon. :) If only love were always this tender - there would be no broken hearts. Of course, we would never know the true meaning of such words if it wasn't for the harshness of loves two edged sword.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu
