Not sure where this came from perhaps the two days of pouring rain triggered a memory of another lifetime...

Thou Mortal Weak

time’s endless stream of memories

etched upon the pages of the mind

life’s pain and pleasure, fact or myth

cannot mislead the seeing blind

for who dares defy  Madam Fate

who’ll desecrate the reasons why

the Jester and the Knight confirm

shake their heads…not I , not I

King of Trump enshrined as mortal weak

his healing truth so long denied

the Queen of Hearts will hold her own

her echo quotes…I lied, I lied.

Excellent write. I had trouble reading the font because my eyes are so sensitive. I'm headed for the eye doc today.

Rain is most inspiring, Felix. It is a gift. You have used it well here. Love and peace,

Dreary rain becomes you, Felix, this is very well written. We have no choice but to play the cards that we are dealt, unless of course, we whimp out and pass, but life is for the players, the others are simply the walking dead.
Take care,
Sherry

Yet, dear Felix, nothing ventured, nothing gained and you will never win if you haven't the courage to play.

The Queen of Hearts rules and the Eagles song inspires. Your poem adds credence to the theory of the Meek's enheritance...it's okay to let the Queen lead sometimes Fee.

Love and pace,
Susan

Wow! I'm impressed, Felix. The rain is truly bringing forth some
fertile writes. Thunderstorms this morning here and torrents of rain. Could see the thunderclouds forming yesterday over the mountains on my way back home. I've been ruminating about old loves myself and the thread that runs through them all. Every relationship is a new creation and woven from former experience. Have come to the conclusion that some are not meant to last, but are there for the lessons we need to learn. Best to bless that gift and absorb the lesson and let go lovingly, tho some leave their mark for a lifetime or lifetimes. Brilliant, emotive write...

I agree with Sandie below completely...
Remorse is an unadulterated curse, we should stay true to ourselves, and stay the course, believing that all our decision making were the right ones at the time...
I hope you stay strong and resolute...
Peter

Sometimes our memories is our own consciousness that triggers our own course of remorse. Some people would go through a lifetime of conscious remorse that eats them up emotionally.

Hope you'll feel better soon. Good luck!
