When it is our turn…
When the guns become our music of the day
When the bombs won’t let our children play
When soldiers are the law and have their say
Will we wonder why in our son’s life we pay
When fires burn and nowhere can we run
When the smoke blocks out all our sun
When the world we knew is no longer any fun
Will we sleep at night close to a loaded gun
When children cry from hunger, thirst and war
When things taken for granted are no more
When bullet holes puss and fill with gore
Will we still think it can’t happen here for sure
Will we speak out for united peace across the land
Will we demand leaders end wars we do not understand
Will we give children of the earth a held out hand
When its our turn will it be too late to take a stand
When its our turn…
When its our turn will it be too late to take a stand..."
Superb and necessary piece Felix! Reminds me of one written about WWII ... No one would speak up about the Jews because they weren't one, and by the time the Nazis came for them, there was no one left to stand up for them either!
May we remember!
Thank you for this writing: I agree Huda and Michael!

very thought provoking. very meaningful in today's sensitive world atmosphere. Prayers may not fix the world's ills, but they sure can't hurt.
Love ya bro,
see you in August

But like Susan, I believe in a greater power who will release us, at the appointed time, D day, though it seems impossible, it is written and will come to pass. If we dont live to see Christ come, what does it matter, this life will be done with forever and a new one is a coming.
That's the hope that keeps me going amid all the pain, sorrow sickness, despair that could ecompass my entire being.
I pray you have the same, for it will ease your own anguish, as far as a human's anquish can be in such terrible times.
My love to you

Another mother asked President Kennedy, "Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam?"
We must do our individual duty, no matter what it may be...to give this world peace. War takes a toll that is priceless to all of us, except the men in black who dictate the plays.
God is the answer. He is the Savior of this earth. Just the word Savior says comfort in the strife of wars.
Love,
Susan
Another mother asked President Truman, "Why did my son have to die in Korea?
Another mother asked President F.D. Roosevelt, "Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima?"
Another mother asked President W. Wilson, "Why did my son have to die on the battlefield of France?"
Yet another mother asked President Lincoln, "Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?"
And yet another mother asked President G. Washington, "Why did my son have to die near Valley Forge?"
Then long, long ago, a mother asked, "Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die on a cross outside of Jerusalem?"
The answers to all these are similar -- "that others may have life and dwell in peace, happiness and freedom."
