Black thoughts...

Cadence wails…bang, bang, bang

Death march dressed in midnight black

Carry me to maker’s judgment day

Look ahead but never back

Ebon thunderclouds scuttle overhead

Rolling thunder speaks of doom

Tears of things left unsaid

Bones to crematorium dust return

A lifetime boxed in rosewood

As fires quickly burn

Years erase my memories time

Loved one’s pain abets

My eyes no longer shine

Ah but in birth anew we live

Soul passed on in time

All that we can give

The ultimate gift is life.
War takes this gift and changes it's calling.
Harmony is all that can define it again.
This is a pen with deep wisdom.

Susan

Nice lament, Dear Felix. Glad to see some Hope in the final stanza.

I think a lot of people are feeling doom & gloom these days ... comes from watching/reading too much negativity in the media. It's too overwhelming and we feel powerless, at times, against so much darkness. But every one of our thoughts, words & actions do have the power to create a better world. Keep the Candle of Hope lit!

Love, Light & Peace,
Joseph
