A poet writes his best when he writes his true feelings...

Land Of Constant Shadows

Unread goodbyes of silent tears

Roll lead heavy on my face

Moments counted in memories

That my leaving won’t erase

The ones that really knew my love

Well understand my need to rest

They’ll know no matter what

I gave the world my utmost best

You know one two many burdens

Broke the proverbial camel’s back

Just one pound of sadness too heavy

Of troubles in the mind’s gunnysack

But I have lived, loved, laughed and cried

That what life is all about you know

Now to the land of constant shadows

The time nears quick for me to go…

Oh Fee,

This is a look back and it's one that, somewhere in time...I can share. If only life had made it easier to be near friends like you. If only's...they are the hollow hearbeats aren't they my dear friend.
love,
Susan

These are sad words to those you leave behind and though we will grieve your passing, we will understand that there is only so much fight in each of us and when every breath becomes the fight, the happiness and joy of living ceases. The body fatigues and fails, but the spirit lives on forever. Before you leave, take the time to tell each of those you love that you promise to watch over them, that you will answer their call anytime they feel that they need your strength and that you will be waiting for them when their time to leave this place occurs. My Grandfather did this for me and I swear, he still comes when I call for him and I feel a certain peace attached with my own eventual passing that he will be there to greet and hold me.
Take care,
Sherry
