...

The house breaths it’s contented sighs

Knowing that it’s day is almost over

No more TV blaring meaningless garbage

No stereo bleating unintelligible song

Kettle is unplugged after one last cup of tea

Doors locked, all inside who hold a key

Snores whisper of contented sleep

Pipes now and then gurgle and chime

Oh…this old house is tired and weary

Each night it eagerly awaits bedtime

In the still of midnight,  click clacking stirs the air

A luminous glow shines eerily

The house sighs he is here

Why is that fool up to tonight

The fool keeps right on typing though

His house’s muse does not complain

Tis midnight when he comes alive

Though to some it seems insane

He’ll read the house his work

Before he finally says goodnight

He’s done here for now

As once more he turns out that last light.

the poet is the last one to go to sleep because his creative heart insists on remaining awake ... awesome poem, Felix ... i know there are many nights the house light stays on until the dawn suggests it's time to rest ...

Writing in the silence of the eve is gratifying and even more so when we read our work outloud while the house listens.

Captures the mood perfectly, and sums up the feeling well of the committed poet and writer..

Spoken as only a poet can, Fee -- this is so lovely. The way you describe how a house winds down after the day ... everyone inside who holds a key, inspired -- and the poet who continues to write, so relative for most of us. One exception ... the snores at my house are definitely NOT whispering ... lol
Excellence here, Fee.
Love,
CJ

I love when I lock the door and let the house be quiet, I breathe a sigh of relief as I close out the stresses of the day and take to my bed. I don't usually wake up in the night anymore, so once I am down, the house goes to sleep for the night. I like this poem, the way you animate the house itself and how you relate to it as a friend of your poetry.
Take care,
Sherry

The walls are fill of spirits and the Muse collects the moans, sighs and memories for another day....and sees to it that the master is content once again. I love the spirit you've given us here. It begins me thinkig about what all the walls of my pasts have captured. We rarely think about where the voices go and how are they absorbed. I love this Fee and I'm happy I hear what your walls are saying. With love my nothern friend...
Always,
Susan
