I just returned from sitting beside my brother's widow all night at the hospital, she is deathly sick.

Blips, bleeps and buzzers

Teardrops hide in shadows glow

Artificial breathes one on one

I watch to afraid to go

Memories on memories

Nurses compassion glance

I hold on for tomorrow

Again I do the dance

My brother gone before her

I sat his vigil by her side

Now alone I sit this time

Too many tears I’ve cried

Glassine bags of fluids

Beads of life drip one by one

I sit alone yet never lonely

Through the window shines…

 the morning sun!

I have never understood why it is that some seem to get the paths of thorns and briars where health issues are concerned... It is obviously not mine to know, but what I DO know is that they are SAINTS who are called to walk such terrain, whether it be in person or as the companion to those whose plight it is to trudge that weary way. That sun is faith, hope, love and grace, Darlin Man, and is for YOU and for the empowering of your massive heart of human compassion and empathy. It's energies are God-given, but its rays are the smiles, loves and hugs we are ALL wrapping like a comfort blanket around you at this heavy time. We love you... and your family. May there be peace. Seems as if you've had a tremendous amount on your plate. I remember months and days and hours waiting and wondering, so much like your poetry...knowing machinery so well that I was often asked if I were medical personnel! Such a very touching write...
Hugs....

Your heart is growing the more to help fill up at times like this Fee. I would be there for you, my true friend. I would give you strength and dry your tears. The light within you will hold you and guide you and see you through this.I feel so very sad right now. Your pen is painful. My prayers are winging your way.

Death is always cruel. Even Jesus prayed that He would not have to go through it. Yet that's life and we can only pray for courage. Victor

Fee this is deeply moving and I think it is so commendable that you keep a vigil, knowing how hard it is to watch someone and feeling so helpless - but your faith shines brilliantly through very dark moments here. My thoughts and prayers are with you, big hugs, Panda :)x

So sorry to hear about your brother. Our prayers are with you and your family. I believe it is God's plan from the day we are born as to when we will leave this earth to be with him in Heaven, a much more beautiful place than what we have here on earth. Take care of yourself and stay strong. Just put your arms around your waist and you can feel our hugs. Karen and Jess
