She Could, I Could

Funny, somtimes silence takes a heavy toll.

She could have asked me


I might have listened


She could have talked


As teardrops glistened


We once loved true


Memories still live


She could have asked me


We could forgive


There’s no one else


She told me that


She just grew tired


Of where we’re at


She could have asked me


If I really cared


For what it’s worth


For all we shared


She could have asked me


Or I should have asked her


Now just empty silence


Sighs forevermore!
