War takes a toll on soldiers, sailors and airmen it is true . Men make war and the cost is high, but as we sit in our comfortable houses miles from the wars of this world lets also remember the innocent children, women, and aged who live with the sight of day to day death. Most of these poor souls did not chose the path their countries followed...they only pay the price.
Who Pays The Price Of War? The ragged and the restless The forlorn and the lost The children and the old The ones who pay a cost The ones who had no say The ones not here today The ones who lost the most The ones that have to pay Their pain is in their eyes Their hurt is in their cries Their grief is everlasting Their believe was in the lies Their lives are no more valid Their hearts are broken sighs Their innocence not counted War innocence defies You see politcians pass the laws of war Generals decide how, then ask for more The soldiers obey what orders passed The babys cry�that�s last, that�s last

Well put Fee. The decision to go to war is always made by old men who will never see combat again, if they ever did at all. I personally would support our efforts to fight terrorism if we were in the right frigging country to begin with. Instead we invade a country that didn't attack us first. And we wonder why there is such a yellow jacket's nest stirred up there now? I'd be mad too. You've written a very profound and thought provoking piece Fee. Excellent. Blessings, Michelle

I too wrote a poem on war, and along with you FELIX agree! What good men have had to endure at the cost of their lives, only to be forgotten and not really recognized, is more than a shame.

Well Felix no truer words are spoken. My husband has been in the miltary for 27 years and there has been a few times when I have had cause to worry. There are too many innocent people who are left to suffer. Keep it up. Rose

So true Felix the effects of a war on the people directly sitting under the battlefield is tremendous. You capture so much her war never is good for anything in the end,. may settle some disputes but it never leaves a medal for those it cost.
