It was Mommy’s first time cooking turkey dinner

For her little family of three

They’d had a wonderful Christmas morning

Opening all their presents neath the Christmas tree

While Mom was busy in the kitchen

Dad and Jlee played with Santa delivered toys

Giggles and laughs and music

Filled their little home with happy noise

All day the smell of turkey cooking

Wafted on the festive holiday air

Love shone o’er the Jlee’s house that day

They had so much love to share

“Furby” was one of Jlee’s favorite presents

A cute toy bundle of animated fur

She kept it close all through the day

She loved it that’s for sure

Mommy set the table and little Jlee rushed to help

Jlee insisted a place for “Furby” be set for him to stay

When they sat to eat she surprised her Mom and Dad

When she began to pray

She prayed happy birthday Baby Jesus

As her smile lit up that room

She said thank you for this food we eat

Thank you for all of my new toys Santa brought

Thanks for my new friend “Furby”

There’s nothing you forgot… Amen
