Buckin’ Bronco

My granddaughter JLee came to me the other day

Said Poppy, theres’ a game that we should play

Its called Buckin’ Bronco and this is what you do

Keep piling stuff on this little old horse’s back

Then watch the fun when he finally has to crack

It’s easy Poppy now all you have to do is try

Her sweet innocence almost made me want to cry

Well that night I thought a lot about that game

Thought just how much that real life is the same

The world keeps piling troubles on us every day

You know somewhere down the road we have to pay

Yes, like that little toy horse we all run out of luck

So now look out world I think I’m about to buck

Children teach us the best lessons in life. It would be wonderful if all of lifes problems were thrown on that house and erased from our lives. Excellent write.

Yes dear cuz, sometimes it takes an innocent child to make us realize that life can put too much on our backs. As the saying goes, from the mouth of babes. Love & hugs to u and yours.

How expertly written, Fee!

You nailed life down perfectly, to the tack and saddle... the burden of an over-packed horse, which most of us carry!

Amazing, how the Lord gives us the strength to bear up, in all these situations we actually go THROUGH...:)

JLee must be as wonderful as her Grandfather - God bless you both!

Love&Hugs, Rhonda

You may a buckin' bronco, Fee, but you always come back up for more! Keep on truckin', baby, you still have a lot of youth left! Spirited write; very well done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Great lesson contained within! :)

A very insightful write. Many wait until they can't bear it no more and then all hell breaks lose. We all have our limits of what we can bear. Learning to shed or better yet, learning to not allow that last package to be placed on us before it breaks our back is a wiser move. Surely a great lesson to teach your precious grand daughter now while she is so young. Lady J

Oh Yes! The world is right here, as you said, waiting to buck. This poem is one that goes along with man, creatures, nature and just a whole whallop-a-loo of metaphors. This is rich Fee. It says a mouthful. You're so good Fee and versatile.
Love,
Susan

An excellent take, here, Fee. Yes, life is just like that poor horse. Sometimes I wish I could see those invisible packs I carry around. Very nice job.

CJ
