Hands Of Love

As time moves on and years go by

The feet move slow with painful sigh

I’m no longer running to and fro

Content to take it nice and slow

Out of each step age steals the spring

Hands forget how they could swing

Where once a mile was but a blink

Now it’s an excursion to the sink

Ah…

But when little hands connect with old

Their warmth and love in joy behold

Savor now, new wonder they bestow

Walking hand in hand I’ll watch you grow

Dear Felix,

Holding hands is such a simple and warm gesture that makes us feel secure and loved. I don't remember what my grandfather's hand looked like but I do remember how it felt. Your poem brings this wonderful feeling back again.

Love & Light always and in all ways,
Joseph*

Beautiful! I'm not a grandmother, yet, thank, God, but I do remember my grandmother who died seven years ago. I remember the smile in her eyes when I was happy, and I can see the water in her eyes when things didn't go my way. Grandparents are an important part of a child's life. This is without a doubt and outstanding write, Fee.

Fee,

This is so poignant. You've put into words so beautifully what all grandparents know. The spark a grandchild breathes into us is as you say a "wonder."

Kathy

Very beautiful done, Fee. It reminds me of the many times my hands were safely in my aunt's old and wrinkled hands, which securely led me a long ways through life and still now, I can sometimes feel the soothing grip...

So well expressed Fee. There is nothing quite like the loving hands of a grandparent. You are one great example. It's good to have you back. Take care... Chants

This is a beautiful walk through the circle of life, Felix. For some reason, this poem reminded me of a video I saw recently by a group of Seniors called The Zimmers singing the Who song "My Generation"...it is great, showing how there is life at all ages. Check it out you will love it:

I remember the hands of my grandmother, wrinkled with little brown spots, strong when taking but soft with caressing.
My hands are turning like that, I hope my grand and greatgrandchildren
will have the same kind of remembrance of my hands.
Georg
