I think if we took a survey we would be shocked by how many can identify with this - especially in the bold and vivid way you portray it. One suggestion - if a bed creaks, it means someone is moving. It's lovely though, thanks for sharing.

I have been in this place...it is somewhere I never want to be again.

This is sad in any event... if what has been lost is but a treasured memory dissipated and covered by the sands of tide and time and... two people drifting. Even sadder if one day the realisation sets in that there was never anything there in the first place... that at best there has only been optimism and hope... and, at worst, a denial of the already existant painful truth that the whole caboodle was a total non-starter. This is one that possibly sadly rings too many bells for too many people. Or is it, perhaps, a stage of life, an imbalance of hormones or something? But what to do about it, NOW THAT is the question.... Honest and searing as we know to be your trademark, Pops. TY Kate xx

Very sad, but alas true for many people. I hope that never happens to me-celebrating 15 years with my DH next week.

It is sad when one awakes in the middle of the night, disturbed perhaps by a dream and, reaching out...nobody is there.
And if it is...are only the cooled embers of once a passionated love.
A rare gem of longing this one is.
