The Poet With The Virgin Heart
By: Felix L. Perry
Writing with the innocence of a virgin heart
Perhaps because she’s yet to see the things I saw
Her sweetness un-tempered by the bitterness of life
Maybe too few years lived to earn that human flaw
I read each write she writes and marvel every time
I want to protect her purity of heart so fine
Wish I could be there when she learns to cry
The first time, her heart is shattered, by a line
I smile as I read the tenderness of her words
Asking questions about life with each new page
Talks of love and lovers and seeks my sage advice
I tell her Elvis thought that all the worlds a stage
So young one you go on and write your heart out
Sing your songs of sweet love and nightingales
When you need a friend I’ll be there in spirit
To breath back a loving breeze to fill your sails…
It's a beautiful poem. I've never had anything like that dedicated to me, I don't think. Thank you, it's a first. And I'm honored that it has come from such a wonderful writer! I'm very glad that I have met you and everyone else on the den. You have all helped me through alot without even knowing it, or wanting anything in return. I can not thank you all enough. There may be a poem about it in the future...:)

Emily and Natasha your poetry delights my heart. Always write what's in your heart. You have an opportunity to bring a different audience to poetry -- go after it!
God bless you, both,

Beautiful tribute to two up and coming poets here; the den will be a better place because of them. Now how about that tribute to Karla the StormSpinner?? Now THAT is a poet! :) (hint, hint!)
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
This is such a fesh scented work. We can easily forget the writings of "pure" youth and innocence. I thank you for having your heart here at AD. You are a blessing to many of us out here in the "writer's universe".
My very best to you.
Chris
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
