Often we when we are attracted to another we don't want to know the truth even when it is offered...

No Promises, No Lies

By: Fee

If I told you that I never laughed

Never cried or in my anger raged

Never knew the sadness I brought

Never my jealous desires engaged

If I told you that I never lusted

Never knew hunger or true thirst

Never knew the sting of teardrops

Never knew the best of love and worst

If I said I’d never really loved before

Never knew such passion complete

Never made promises that I broke

Never left love trampled at my feet

If I said I’ll try and love you till forever

I’ll keep a special place inside my heart

But I’ll make no promises I can’t keep

Perhaps that is the best place to start…

It is so much better to be honest then to try to live a lie. You have demonstrated that so well with this write.

Not making promises one can't keep is always a very good place to start.

Fee, I will say that you are a Master in the Art of Covering Your Ass, if she bites that one you will be set for life. Keep fishing, they say that there are a lot of fish in the seas, but mind you, they are getting smarter and the only thing wet will be your appetite.

To begin at the beginning with the first step being honesty and to allow the love to unfold like a newly awakened flower, very beautiful....

Be always safe,

Always start when your feet send out that radar that says, C'mon! You can do it!"
I know you Fee. The poem is insightful and so you...including the beautiful beach scene. Take me there.
Blessings and love,
Susan

well, yeah; truth hurts.
Promises... a waste of breath. If you mean it, there is no need to say it. Actions speak louder than words, my friend, and I rather take my chances in reading someone wrong.

Great write. But we all make promises we mean to keep but end up not. I think you have it right just not to make promises. Liz
