A Survivor
By: Fee
She stares out the window at last summer’s promise
Wonders where are the blossoms that once bloomed so bright
A glance into her memory remembers the boy she loved
Her young childhood sweetheart who passed into the night
She sips from her teacup that says World’s best Mom
There’s pictures of ages that seemed to just slip by
Sometimes when alone she feels a little forsaken
Yet she smiles so sweetly trying so hard not to cry
Watched her son march off to war in his uniform proud
Prayed for his return with every newscast she seen
Never let him know how scared that she really felt
For her sweet young son not much more than a teen
In the autumn of life she’s now independent and free
Her big heart is still as loving as anyone can plainly see
She’s a classical beauty who’s weathered life’s storms
This sweet lady I call friend is just who she’s seems to be

Without your friendship and a few dear friends
On line to help pull me through the rough times,
I would have given up. Your words have deeply
Touched my heart.
(Although if ya asked all the doctors I had seen,
I am sure they would not agree;
my uglier side took over LOL)
Thank you so much for your dedication
also the time you spent writing. You are
a rare "Gentleman"
I am framing this and placing
your heart warming words on my wall.
