Me and Mr. Sandman
By: Fee
When old Mr. Sandman sings his lullaby
Spot-lit by the moonbeams on your bed
I’ll be waiting in the wings you know
A sublime whisper in your pretty head
I’ll be your snuggles beneath the covers
Your cuddly stuffed toy kissed good night
An old familiar bunched up pillow hugged
Little dreams dancing merrily in your head
I’ll be the slayer of all your evil dragons
A grand white knight at your beck and call
No monsters behind that silly closet door
Well ever get the chance to my love at all
I’ll be a tender satin kiss on sleeping lips
A hand snuggling covers up to your chin
Be the fingers stroking a stray strand of hair
As in your heart my love truly settles in
Then when the moonbeams switch to sun rays
And you yawn and stretch to greet the day
I’ll be the smile you taste as your eyes awake
As from inside your heart I’ll never stray…
Love,
