Often I watch and wonder how far birds travel and how wonderful to be so free of depth perception...

I  Send My Whisper on The Wings of a Crow

By: Felix L. Perry

I look now to the West across the twists of time

Where the barriers fall slowly only to redefine

Hoe I gaze on waves caressing seashore sand

Imagined a rippled lake somewhere overland

Have held in my arms a fragile new born baby

Met and fell in love with a cuddlesome lady

I have did my duty when I was called to arms

Felt defeat and victory both debts and charms

Broke hearts and had mine broke a time or two

Love can be fickle I learned this to be often true

Now clouds move north; as the sun moves west

Heart yearns to be sated but…nay, it may not rest

Sang your name on wings of a low flying crow

Envied his wings wishing I too could freely go

Now alone I await the raucous call of his return

Sweet shadowed dream of love for thee I yearn…

crows, I have not normally associated as symbolic of romantic whims and ventures of the heart -- and here you've gone and made it work beautifully my friend -- albeit with a touch bittersweet -- peace and love to you -- Jon Michael

this is truly airborne, Felix. The sentiments are bittersweet and yet you couch these tender feelings in some very real imagery - love the "non-cloying"-ness of the crow ... as opposed to a dove, for example. So very real... which is always so very you. You are master at bringing REAL heart and REAL feeling to us in very REAL ways, albeit always with sincerity and tenderness. I like my crow... he sits in a real "crow's nest" outside my bedroom window, high up in a Scots pine tree... and guards my garden from the big baddy rooks down the road!! :)) xx

Beautiful Fee! Made my heart ache too. This is history written like the old maritime sailors would pen. Your soul comes through very well my friend.
Blessings and love,
Susan

Extraordinary! Mystic! We could use this kind of great writing over on Mystic Verses my dear friend. You write like a gentle breeze that barely caresses your face but leaves a sweet everlasting kiss to remember it by.

Haunting, with the kind of sounds all the shadows have when they crawl from the corners of our solitude.
As the crow flies they say, you said to have send a whisper on the wings of one...and it will return.
