I know this may be a little dark but just a reminder that love can be eternal...not just a fleeting thing.

I Will Care Always

By: Felix L. Perry

In soft satin and black he was laid on his back

While the piper played amazing grace

So few sat to mourn, but one heart so forlorn

Her silent tears left streaks down her face

With words left unsaid, in her soft suit of red

She prayed that somehow he’d know

In her dreams they still strolled until they grew old

Sharing love’s all encompassing glow

So much left unsaid, buried now with the dead

Their promises to lay dormant and still

In her heart he still smiles, and visits for a while

She knows he’s waiting just over the next hill

He’ll run his hand through her hair, holding her near

His lips kissing a promise nay more to part

Then a wisp of a breeze, like God’s invisible keys

For a second re-opens a door in her heart

Though they closed the lid, in her life he still lived

And smiling she walks out the church door

Then looks to the sky, wiped away her last cry

Now knowing the meaning of love evermore…

What can I say? You touched my sentimental heart and brought tears to my eyes. This message is one I carry in my heart for my sons, Dads and brother. You are amazing. Thank you.

The long waits over, whenst truest love begins...I hear pipers over the hills of purpled thistles...
Excellent set of keys he has! Egh?
Creative and yes, its sad too, although I see her kicking up some high heel too! :)
Love and Peace~

This somber permanence in all our lives…closing of the casket….
Leaving holes in our hearts…Thank the good Lord for memories
& the essence which is always embracing us…
Eternality of LOVE...
ever present...

You've captured it all with the inclusion of the piper and the haunting, mournful wail of his pipes. This is so very visual and cinematic and we really feel for these lovers physically sundered through death. Even though the imagery is so solid, with literal details of the funeral and coffin, we know that the souls and spirits of your subjects live on through love. Strong writing, Felix. xx

A lonely bagpiper and few mourners surrounded the one left behind, but the real love never left. No dark poem at all my friend, just a touch of tenderness to remind us about love.
