The sea shore in the summer at night is always such a wonderful place but for those of you who haven't tried it...take a walk, make a fire and sit a spell on a beach in winter with snow softly falling...magical.
PS: Dress warm!

Solitude

By: Fee

solitude

pounding surf

on lobster’s turf

frigid off-shore breeze

beach fire yesterday’s trees

snowflakes soften ocean’s fury

flames sedate world in a hurry

chameleon scene change

alone so out of range

sand now vestal white

embers kiss night

stars glow

desires grow

solitude

yearned wish

Cupid’s dish

time quickly runs out

when no one about

grains slipping through glass

like breeze through sea grass

heart wishing for more

voice calling off shore

surf sings refrain

hear distant train

solitude

midnight

lost fight

fires almost out

tide wandered out

sun coming up soon

clouds hide the moon

time to face lonely room

set aside gloom and doom

cold shiver’s chill

calm restored ‘til

yawning morning

stifled yearning

solitude

Fee,
I feel a sense of appreciation for the quiet time, but there's also an underlying sense of longing or loneliness. You made this combination feel inviting.

Just what I needed to read
before a nap with my cats.

Thank you, Tranquil Fee.

And I was especially calmed
and warmed by this couplet:

"snowflakes soften ocean’s fury
flames sedate world in a hurry"

This write of yours has a magical ring to it Fee. I love the sea any time of day or night but unfortunately we don't have snow where I live or I'd try your formula. Write on my friend. You pen speaks POET.

Indeed, it is magical, as is a walk in a deep forest, on a snowy morn. Getting out amidst nature's glory is wondrous, not matter the place, or time of year.
